The word from France is that Hugues de Chaunac's ORECA organization may be considering a CART team for next year, but only if the money is right.

The word from France is that Hugues de Chaunac's ORECA organization may be considering a CART team for next year, but only if the money is right. ORECA is a very successful business which has steered clear of racing unless there has been a big sponsorship in the bag. De Chaunac learned the hard way back in the 1970s when he was running the Martini Formula 1 team, which lasted only one season.

CART is known to be offering about $800,000 per car for anyone willing to enter the championship. This will not cover all the costs but will go a long way to covering the budget.
