Nurburgring to honour Schumacher
Michael Schumacher is to have a section of the Nurburgring named after him. The track has had sponsored corners for many years with some, such as the Dunlop Kurve, becoming wellknown but others being referred to more often by number.
Michael Schumacher is to have a section of the Nurburgring named after him. The track has had sponsored corners for many years with some, such as the Dunlop Kurve, becoming wellknown but others being referred to more often by number. The section to be called Schumacher was formerly known as the Audi S and is the fast kink to the left on the way back up the hill from the Dunlop Kurve which is taken at about 150mph by the modern F1 cars. The second part of the corner is a fast right-hander which has been known as the Shell Kurve. It is not yet clear whether Schumacher will have the two sections named after him or whether the Shell name will remain.
Schumacher will be present at the German Grand Prix this summer a ceremony to inaugurate the Schumacher S. This will take place on July 22.
