Nothing for racers in Honours List
The British Government's New Year's Honours List featured no recognition at all for the motorsport business - not even a medal for England's first World Rally Champion Richard Burns.
The only recognition at all for the industry came in the form of an MBE awarded to Morag Barton, director of the Brooklands Museum Trust in Woking, who was honored for her work in safeguarding the history of automobile racing at the Brooklands circuit.
