Mosley to stand for FIA re-election

Max Mosley said on Wednesday that he fully intends to stand for re-election as Federation Internationale l'Automobile (FIA) President.

It had been thought that he would stand down at the next election, but his decision to try for re-election will anger many team-bosses who reportedly called for his resignation at a meeting last week.

Mosley, however, will only stand for re-election should he be provided with the support form other members of the board.

"If people are going to say 'you have to go' my immediate reaction is going to be 'I'll have to stay'," Mosley said.

"It always has the opposite effect on me. So I will stand for re-election again next year - provided it is quite clear that the majority of the clubs want me."
