McLaren announce Canon Europa partnership deal

CANON EUROPA NV have signed a deal with McLaren that sees them re-enter Formula One as 'Official Imaging Solutions Partner' to the team.

Team-boss Ron Dennis welcomed the deal for the photography giant to act as a partner to the Woking-based team for the 2001 world championship.

"We are pleased to see Canon making a return to Formula One and are proud to welcome them as a partner to the team," Dennis said. "We look forward to working with their advanced technology in the new millennium."

Jon Phelps, head of sponsorship at Canon Europa, added: "This new partnership within a sport that is so technologically dependent, represents a great platform for us to show the products and services we can offer today, but more importantly those of tomorrow."
