Kristensen and Tyrrell
DENMARK may have lost its only current Formula 1 driver with the announcement that Jan Magnussen is being booted out of his Stewart Ford drive, but there could be another Dane in Grand Prix racing within a matter of days.
Kristensen has an impressive curriculum vitae having won the German Formula 3 title in 1991 before going to Japan where he won the local Formula 3 championship in 1993 and followed up with the All Japan Formula 3000 title in 1995. Without money to break into F1 he has raced sportscars and touring cars in recent years, winning the 1997 Le Mans 24 Hours partnered by Michele Alboreto and Stefan Johansson in a TWR Porsche.
