Junqueira heading off to America

BRAZILIAN Bruno Junqueira has had a firm offer to move to Chip Ganassi Racing in America's Champ Cars next year - further suggesting that Juan Pablo Montoya will be joining BMW-Williams in Formula One next year.

BRAZILIAN Bruno Junqueira has had a firm offer to move to Chip Ganassi Racing in America's Champ Cars next year - further suggesting that Juan Pablo Montoya will be joining BMW-Williams in Formula One next year.

Paul Jackson, Junqueira's F3000 boss with the Petrobras Junior Team, said the F3000 Championship winner will move to Champ Cars because there are no Formula One places available.

Jackson said: "I get the feeling they are all filled with other people. Rumors are that there won't be a position for Bruno, and his best opportunity lies in America.

"One team has a concrete offer on the table," he said, and further confirmed that the offer was from Ganassi. "As time goes on, that's looking to be his best option."

Montoya won the CART championship for Ganassi in 1999, and Junqueira will be hoping that similar success will see him move into Formula One in the future. He is currently in Brazil, but will go to America in five days time to sign the deal.

The comments virtually confirm that Colombian Juan Pablo Montoya will leave the Ganassi team for BMW-Williams next year.
