JORDAN GRAND PRIX will use the Honda Athena engine tested by British American Racing when they begin their preparations for 2001.

BAR were heavily involved in the testing program for the new engine this year, but Honda, who will supply both teams, have given permission to Jordan to test with the power unit in December.

Jordan's new test driver Ricardo Zonta, who carried out a lot of the work on the engine, will be at the wheel when the Silverstone-based team try out the new Honda unit.

Honda have promised that they will give both teams equal treatment in the coming season and Jordan will sample the Athena engine in the EJ10B chassis in tests in Jerez, Valencia and Barcelona.
