Jaguar to launch R3 on January 4

JAGUAR RACING is to launch the new R3 chassis at its Milton Keynes headquarters on January 4. The new car will be the work of the technical team led by Steve Nichols, chief aerodynamicist Mark Handford and chief designer John Russell.

The car will be driven by Eddie Irvine and Pedro de la Rosa and will be crucial in many ways for the design team as twice last year team bosses tried to hire better known names rather than relying on their talents. The first approach was to Adrian Newey, the second to Williams's duo Geoff Willis and Gavin Fisher.
