Irvine vows to keep up aggression
EDDIE IRVINE has said he has no intention of changing his aggressive driving style for next weekend's British Grand Prix.
Irvine has vowed not to hold back in his Jaguar as he aims to give the Silverstone fans a treat in what is regarded as his home race.
"While a podium finish is a very tall order I intend to race in the same aggressive manner that I have done so far this season," said Irvine. "It should be quite entertaining for the British fans."
Irvine's aggressive driving has landed him in trouble already this season as an ambitious overtaking move on Sauber's Nick Heidfeld in the Canadian Grand Prix sent both drivers spinning out.
Irvine, however, is in no mood to change his driving style and after recovering from a neck injury is hoping to finish for the just the fifth time this season.
He added: "I don't anticipate any problems with my neck at all as far as the British Grand Prix is concerned. I know Silverstone well and a good aero package and balance is the key ingredients there.
"But even though we are making good progress in those areas I don't think Silverstone will turn out to be one of our better tracks."
Irvine has scored four points this season, with a third place finish in the Monaco Grand Prix, and he will hope to add to that tally with a top-six finish at the Northamptonshire track.
