Hungary bans tobacco advertising

Hungary voted a ban on tobacco advertising a year ago and that has now come into force.

HUNGARY voted a ban on tobacco advertising a year ago and that has now come into force. The new law means there can be no outdoor signs promoting tobacco products. The tobacco companies say that from now on they will be targeting customers inside buildings.

The law does not however affect the Hungarian Grand Prix - sponsored by Marlboro - as the government inserted a clause in the law to ensure that the race would not be cancelled.
