Later in the evening, Williams' Nico Hulkenberg was also handed a 20-second penalty for cutting a corner to gain an advantage on the track, when he passed Vitantonio Liuzzi's Force India on lap one of the race.

Force India protested against Hulkenberg after their own driver Adrian Sutil was given a penalty and dropped to tenth place in the race order. Following this later penalty the order changes once again, with Felipe Massa moving up to eighth place, Sutil finishing ninth, and Hulkenberg in tenth place.

With the reshuffle, Force India moves ahead of Williams in the Constructors' Championship.
