Honda V10 for 2003 fires up this weekend
There is much excitement at the Honda R&D headquarters in Tochigi, Japan, this weekend as the 2003 Honda V10 engine is fired up for the first time. The new unit, which has been designed by a team of engineers led by Hiroshi Abe, is expected to produce more horsepower than the current unit, the latest version of which is doing very well at the moment. Although Honda refuse to quote horsepower figures it is believed that the current configuration is producing around 870 horsepower.
Reliability is still a bit of an issue but the BAR and Jordan entries are looking much stronger than they did earlier this year.
