Honda is mourning

Japanese MotoGP rider Daijiro Kato has died as a result of an accident at Suzuka on April 6. The 2001 World Champion of the 250cc series was in his second season in the premier motorcycle racing series.

Japanese MotoGP rider Daijiro Kato has died as a result of an accident at Suzuka on April 6. The 2001 World Champion of the 250cc series was in his second season in the premier motorcycle racing series and was a big hope for the Honda company.

Sadly he has now lost his fight for survival. Many of the Honda engineers in F1 come from a background of motorcycle racing and the loss will be felt heavily at Imola today.
