Holloway on the move

Tim Holloway has been hired by Jordan to assist Gary Anderson in his design and race engineering duties.

Tim Holloway has been hired by Jordan to assist Gary Anderson in his design and race engineering duties. He replaces Steve Nichols who left Jordan to join the Larrousse Junior Team operation and will work as race engineer for Rubens Barrichello.

Holloway is 44 and is a close collaborator of former March boss Robin Herd. He was trained as a rocket research engineer and worked with the British Ministry of Defence before joining March Engineering in 1977. He has been involved with Herd ever since, working from 1987-1990 as director of engineering of March F1 and then as a designer with Herd's Fomet 1 and Larrousse UK Ltd companies. He was also involved in the Oldsmobile Aerotech research car project in 1987 - with which AJ Foyt claimed the fastest recorded lap of a closed circuit (257.123mph) on the 7.7-mile oval at Fort Stockton, Texas - and in the March-Porsche Indycar operation in 1991. Last year he worked as design and race engineer on Erik Comas's Larrousse.

Holloway's recruitment by Jordan completes the Jordan engineering line-up for 1995 with Andrew Green continuing to engineer Eddie Irvine and Gary Anderson overseeing both cars.
