Hockenheim in wash-out

Heavy rain following Friday's opening free practice at the Hockenheim circuit caused havoc with the track schedule -- as flooding caused events to be cancelled.

The qualifying session for Saturday's International F3000 race and the official FIA press conference both had to be cancelled as rain left the pit-lane and the television area flooded.

Tires rolled down the pit-lane as crews frantically tried to rescue the situation, which could cause problems for Saturday's qualifying session for the German Grand Prix.
