Heidfeld leads day two in Valencia
Sauber, Jordan and Minardi joined testing in Valencia on Tuesday, and Nick Heidfeld posted the fastest lap of the day in the new Sauber-Petronas C21.
Japanese rookie Takuma Sato and Giancarlo Fisichella tested for Jordan. Sato, who was in last year's EJ11 was two seconds quicker than his teammate in the new EJ12.
The Williams trio of Juan-Pablo Montoya, Ralf Schumacher and Marc Gene returned to Valencia for the second day in a row. Montoya and Schumacher tested new FW24 chassis while Gene was behind the wheel of a FW23 interim car.
Renault test driver Fernando Alonso also returned for his second day testing in Valencia Tuesday. He was joined by Jenson Button who took over testing duties from Jarno Trulli. The duo was seventh and eighth fastest at the circuit.
Australian Mark Webber and Malaysian Alex Yoong completed minimal laps for Minardi Tuesday, but reported that they were satisfied with the little progress they made.
Testing continues Wednesday.
