ITALIAN driver Fabrizio Giovanardi said he enjoyed his first experience in a Formula One car after he tested Ferrari's F12000 car at Vairano, Italy, on Thursday.

Giovanardi, a competitor with Alfa Romeo in the FIA European Super Touring Car Championship, stepped into the breach in the absence of Ferrari's official test driver Luca Badoer.

The young driver covered 137 kilometers in a total of 38 separate runs in last year's championship-winning car.

"This was a new and enjoyable experience," Giovanardi said. "I have tried something unique in life. At the start, I was a bit nervous, but then, being a professional racing driver, everything seemed normal."
