Frentzen confirms two-year extension with Jordan

HEINZ-HARALD FRENTZEN on Wednesday confirmed his future by agreeing a two-year extension to his contract with Jordan.

HEINZ-HARALD FRENTZEN on Wednesday confirmed his future by agreeing a two-year extension to his contract with Jordan.

The German announced in his homeland that he would be staying with the Silverstone-based team, despite Jaguar reportedly hoping to tempt him with a big money offer.

Frentzen claimed the completion of a deal that sees Jordan powered by Honda works engines for the 2001 World Championship had swayed his decision.

"I can now say that I will be driving for Jordan for the next two years, and for Honda who will supply us with a new works engine," Frentzen said.

Jordan will boast the same driver line-up for next year with Italian Jarno Trulli contracted to the team until the end of the 2001 season.
