RICK GORNE, a founder of British American Racing, has left the team it was announced on Wednesday.

Gorne was central to the work to bring the Brackley-based team into Formula One but said he has achieved all he can with the team and now plans to develop business interests elsewhere.

"I have personally achieved all that I can at British American Racing," Gorne said. "It has been one of the most exciting, rewarding and challenging projects to have been involved with.

"Helping to create a Formula One team was a major achievement and I'm proud to have been part of it."

Gorne will now develop his own business interests, both inside and outside of motorsport.

"It is time for me to move on," he said. "I have many opportunities ahead of me and I'm looking forward to the new challenges."
