Formula 1 and the Greeks
Bernie Ecclestone was in Athens over the weekend for talks with the Greek authorities about the possibilities of a Grand Prix in Greece. There are plans, which we reported in September, for a race to be held on the old airport at Helliniko, which was transformed into a sporting venue for the Olympic Games.

There are plans, which we reported in September, for a race to be held on the old airport at Helliniko, which was transformed into a sporting venue for the Olympic Games. The plan is now to turn the area into a park but with the sporting venues remaining in place. There is already a road around the facility which would serve as a Formula 1 circuit and it is believed that Ecclestone was looking at what might be done in the future.
