Filippi's searing pace in Bahrain
It has been a while since Super Nova Racing ruled the roost in GP2, the celebrated team's last win having come at the end of 2005 but David Sears's team, which won Formula 3000 championships with Vincenzo Sospiri (1995), Ricardo Zonta (1997), Juan Pablo Montoya (1998) and Sebastian Bourdais (2002) is winning again thanks to Luca Filippi's dominant race in Bahrain on Saturday.

It has been a while since Super Nova Racing ruled the roost in GP2, the celebrated team's last win having come at the end of 2005 but David Sears's team, which won Formula 3000 championships with Vincenzo Sospiri (1995), Ricardo Zonta (1997), Juan Pablo Montoya (1998) and Sebastian Bourdais (2002) is winning again thanks to Luca Filippi's dominant race in Bahrain on Saturday. The Italian led from the start and was never really challenged by the chasing iSport duo of Timo Glock and Andreas Zuber. Team DAMS's Kazuki Nakajima was bumped off early in the race but came back to score a point for the fastest lap.
There was plenty of action through the field as the latest generation of young guns try to emulate Lewis Hamilton and grab the attention of the F1 world.
Bruno Senna finished a solid fourth on his debut with Arden, the best rookie in the field, while Lucas di Grassi (ART) finally managed to pass Arden's Adrian Zaugg to take fifth from the Swiss/South African driver.
Veteran Nicholas Lapierre was seventh and Borja Garcia eighth and so they will start at the front on Sunday.
