FIA to announce Jordan's fate Saturday afternoon

The International Court of Appeal will announce Saturday afternoon the verdict on the disqualification of Jarno Trulli from the United States Grand Prix in September.

THE International Court of Appeal will announce Saturday afternoon the verdict on the disqualification of Jarno Trulli from the United States Grand Prix in September. The decision will determine Jordan's final standing in the constructors' championship. Right now, Jordan stands tied with fellow Honda powered team BAR for 5th in the championship with 17 points, but if the appeal is won, they will regain the 2 points they lost due to the Stewards' decision in Indianapolis. They will regain the three points Trulli lost, but lose the one point Jean Alesi gained by being awarded 6th after his teammate's disqualification. When the smoke clears, if Jordan wins it's appeal, it will stand alone in 5th position with 19 points.

The FIA released the following statement Friday, "The International Court of Appeal met today at 8.30 am in Paris to hear the appeal introduced by the Royal Irish Automobile Club on behalf of its licence holder Jordan Grand Prix against Stewards' decision number 31 of the United States Grand Prix (exclusion of car no 11 - Jarno Trulli - for non-conformity of skid block dimensions)".
