FedEx joins Stewart Grand Prix

ALTHOUGH the news has yet to be officially announced we understand that Benetton's sponsor Federal Express has decided to move to Stewart Grand Prix. The deal between FedEx and Stewart is the result of Stewart's connection with the FordÊMotorÊCompany and as part of the deal FedEx sponsorship will appear not only on the Stewart F1 cars but also on the Ford rally team and possibly in touring car racing as well. Ford recently concluded a worldwide deal with the Memphis-based FedEx for the transportation of automotive parts.

The additional sponsorship is good news for Stewart Grand Prix which had a lot of white space on its cars at the recent launch, following the departure of Texaco. We would expect to see FedEx appearing on the side of the Stewart cockpit area.
