The first official test for the Telefonica World Series in Barcelona saw a number of ex-F1 drivers and F1 hopefuls in action in the 450 horsepower cars.

Former Ferrari test driver Luciano Burti was in action at the wheel of an Adrian Campos Motorsport car, working with Jean-Francois Sinteff, with whom he worked when he was driving for Prost Grand Prix a couple of years ago.

Burti was beaten in the times by several drivers, notably Ander Vilarino, who is a protege of former Prost GP sporting director Joan Viladelprat.

Also in action was the championship favourite, Renault F1test driver Franck Montagny who will be teamed up with rising star Heikki Kovalainen in the Gabord Competition team. Also recording good times was Narain Kartikheyan, driving a Carlin Motorsport entry. Also in action were Giorgio Pantano, former Arrows driver Enrique Bernoldi and Esteban Tuero, who drove for Minardi several years ago.
