Tomas Enge has disappeared from the single-seater scene in recent months but the Czech driver, who drove for Prost Grand Prix at the end of 2001, now seems set to try to revive his career with a test for the Pennzoil Panther Racing team in the Indy Racing League. Enge has been struggling since he failed a drug test last year in Hungary, which resulted in him losing the FIA International Formula 3000 title. He has been competing in the FIA GT Championship in the MenX Ferrari 360.
If his IRL program goes ahead Enge will be replaced by fellow countryman Jaroslav Janis. Enge will however be racing in this year's Le Mans 24 Hours with the Veloqx-Prodrive Ferrari team.
