Ecclestone backs Mosley

Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone says that the teams have only themselves to blame for what happened with the regulations and agrees that the FIA had to act to safeguard the future of the sport.

Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone says that the teams have only themselves to blame for what happened with the regulations and agrees that the FIA had to act to safeguard the future of the sport.

"The thing that has been wrong is that the teams have allowed the FIA to make the changes rather than making them themselves," he said. "They've had enough opportunity to realise they are spending too much money. The teams should have realised what was going on and started cutting back, rather than allowing someone else to step in and do it."
