DHL returns to F1 as an official partner

The global logistics company DHL has returned to Formula 1 as a global partner of the sport.

The global logistics company DHL has returned to Formula 1 as a global partner of the sport. The German-baesed firm, which was previously a sponsor of the Jordan team, is to establish a logistics centre at each Grand Prix, offering 24-hour express service.

The agreement appears to be based on the fact that DHL wants to build up its presence in the new markets now being ventured into by F1, notably the Middle East and China.

For the teams the news must be rather disheartening. Not only is the Formula One group taking most of the income generated by the F1 circus now it seems it is taking the sponsors as well...
