De la Rosa to have fitness test before Indianapolis race

Arrows driver Pedro de la Rosa will undergo a fitness test ahead of the United States Grand Prix at Indianapolis to determine whether he is fit enough to participate in the 15th round.

Arrows driver Pedro de la Rosa will undergo a fitness test ahead of the United States Grand Prix at Indianapolis to determine whether he is fit enough to participate in the 15th round.

The 29-year-old Spaniard escaped from a spectacular shunt when his car somersaulted through the air at the la Roggia chicane in the Italian Grand Prix at Monza after a collision with Jaguar's Johnny Herbert.

De la Rosa's A21 chassis landed on top of the McLaren of David Coulthard and he will be given a full examination by Arrows' physiotherapist Simon Jones before his place in the Indianapolis race is confirmed.

"I'll do a full spinal assessment and a full muscular and soft tissue assessment just to make sure he feels okay and I'm happy with him," Jones said.

"He assures me he is okay, but that's something I want to do myself. We'll be straight into our pre-race prep for Indianapolis on Tuesday morning."
