Coventry City chairman Richardson dismisses Jordan rumors

COVENTRY CITY FOOTBALL CLUB chairman Bryan Richardson has dismissed reports that Formula One boss Eddie Jordan is set to join the board at the club.

COVENTRY CITY FOOTBALL CLUB chairman Bryan Richardson has dismissed reports that Formula One boss Eddie Jordan is set to join the board at the club.

There had been growing speculation that the Jordan race team boss was set to make a bid to join the Highfield Road club and inject some much needed cash in order to help steer them away from the relegation zone of the Premier League.

However, Richardson has denied any approach from Jordan and a spokesman from Jordan has backed up the denial.

"Eddie Jordan is a Coventry City fan," Richardson said. "But any rumours you may of heard about him investing in the club are totally unfounded.

"He enjoys football but is not interested in making any financial investment in it."

Richardson has regularly entertained Jordan in his directors box at Highfield Road, however, it looks as though he will remain there as a supporter and not a board member.
