Coulthard spin caused by wishbone failure

McLaren announced on Saturday that David Coulthard's spin in Friday's free practice had been caused by left-rear wishbone failure.

The Scot was unable to give a reason as to why his Mercedes-powered car left the Monza circuit at the Lesmo Corner in the afternoon session on Friday.

But after an overnight investigation, the Woking-based team announced that detailed analysis had shown that the left-rear wishbone of Coulthard's car had failed causing him to spin off.
