Changes at the International Court of Appeal
The FIA has appointed EU Competition lawyer Ken Daly as the new Secretary General of the FIA International Court of Appeal. He replaces David Ward, who now moves on to become a special advisor to FIA President Max Mosley, while retaining his role as the director general of the FIA Foundation.
The FIA has appointed EU Competition lawyer Ken Daly as the new Secretary General of the FIA International Court of Appeal. He replaces David Ward, who now moves on to become a special advisor to FIA President Max Mosley, while retaining his role as the director general of the FIA Foundation.
Daly studied law at University College, Cork and has specialised in competition law in Brussels since 1996. He specializes in merger control proceedings, cartel investigations and litigation, distribution practices, and abuse of dominance cases. He has advised clients in a variety of high profile cases before the European Commission and national competition authorities and has represented clients in litigation before the European Courts. He has worked in numerous different spheres although his particular expertise is in film, music, media and broadcasting, and sports rights. He has also worked in airport services (notably slot allocation disputes, automotive parts, cement, food and beverages, glass, haberdashery products, luxury goods, arms, pharmaceuticals, precious metals, professional and financial services, and tobacco. Daly has written extensively on distribution, cartel and sports law.
