Champion elect Schumacher will enjoy a quiet August
DEFENDING world champion Michael Schumacher is looking forward to spending some time at home with his family in Geneva over the next two weeks as Formula 1 goes into its August hiatus.
Being only four points away from securing his fourth world title, Schumacher would normally be calling on all resources to wrap things up as smartly as possible, but the enforced break is something towards which all the F1 folk have been looking forward to - Schumacher included. "No testing is allowed, which is why I can cope with the idea of a break quite easily," he said.
Worrying for the rest of the field, Schumacher believes that he will come back after his summer holiday with renewed enthusiasm. The last time he was forced to abandon the cockpit was when he broke his leg in 1999 - and returned to obliterate the opposition.
"I am really looking forward to spending time with my family. I'll be able to enjoy a few days and just unwind a bit. I have no specific plans apart from just being all together. It will mean I will arrive in Hungary refreshed and ready to go mentally."
