BMW pull out of German touring car championship to focus on F1
The German manufacturers have enjoyed a successful debut season in partnership with Williams this season, as the BMW-Williams team look set to secure third place in the constructors' championship behind Ferrari and McLaren.
BMW now want to focus even more of their efforts on Formula One and have therefore decided to drop the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) series from their list of projects.
The Munich-based company will still participate in the American Le Mans Series (ALMS), but only in the GT category, as well as the Formula ADAC Championship and BMW ADAC Formula Junior Cup, where they will help develop young drivers.
