Bernoldi pops up again

Enrique Bernoldi has not been around the Formula 1 scene since he was Honda test driver back in 2005. Since then he has been since very little on the international scene with a test in Champ Car in 2006 and then racing in the Brazilian stock car series in 2007.

Enrique Bernoldi has not been around the Formula 1 scene since he was Honda test driver back in 2005. Since then he has been since very little on the international scene with a test in Champ Car in 2006 and then racing in the Brazilian stock car series in 2007. Now he is back in open-wheelers with the announcement that he will race for Rocketsports Racing in Champ Car in 2008. The 29-year-old from Curitiba was once a highly-rated rising star in F1 and was at the root of the split between Sauber and Red Bull as Peter Sauber was keen on Kimi Raikkonen and Red Bull wanted Bernoldi. He did end up in F1 with the Orange Arrows team in 2001 and 2002 but the team was not very competitive and after the team folded he ended up racing in the Nissan World Series for two years before getting the testing role at Honda.
