THE Benetton team - which will soon become known as "Renault Sport UK" - has been restructuring in recent weeks with the arrival of new engineers and new administrators. The technical team under Mike Gascoyne has been boosted by the arrival of several Formula 1 engineers, notably Jordan chief designer Mark Smith and race engineer Dino Toso. In addition the team has picked up electronics men Tad Czapski from Ferrari and Chris Hills from Arrows. There are expected to be some more changes in the race engineering staff

On the organizational front the team is now being run by former Arrows team manager Steve Nielsen while former Sporting Manager Gordon Message has decided that he no longer wants to be involved and has left the team. He is expected to concentrate his efforts on running a building company which he has owned for some years.
