Australian GP yet to be confirmed by the FIA

Although the State Coroner in Melbourne has already said the he does not see there being a problem with this year's Australian Grand Prix going ahead as planned.

ALTHOUGH the State Coroner in Melbourne has already said the he does not see there being a problem with this year's Australian Grand Prix going ahead as planned, the FIA is still refusing to confirm the race will go ahead until the coroner publishes his report. Only then will the federation decide whether or not the race will go ahead.

With the race now less than six weeks away all the preparations for the event are already underway and if the event is called off the local government would take a major financial loss - which would be a major political blow to the Victorian state government.
