Australia gets a Champ Car team
Australian expansion in world motor racing continues with the news that Australian businessmen John Fish and Craig Gore have bought "a controlling interest" in Derrick Walker's Champ Car team. The team will henceforth be called "Team Australia" rather than Walker Racing.

Gore has made a fortune in property development with the Atkinson Gore Group, a financial services company called Wright Patton Shakespeare which is active as a team owner in the V8 Supercar series in Australia and a building company. Fish is another developer on Queensland's Gold Coast.
