BRITISH Formula Three Champion Antonio Pizzonia will test for the Arrows in Barcelona on Monday, it has been confirmed.

The Amazonian driver, who has yet to secure a testing deal for 2001, will take over from Pedro de la Rosa at the Circuit de Catalunya on Monday afternoon.

"I'm looking forward to assisting the team in developing the Asian Motor Technologies engines Arrows will run with in 2001," Pizzonia said.

Pizzonia, who tested for Benetton this year, is in negotiations for a test-drive with an unnamed team who are contracted to Michelin tires. So the Brazilian driver will use undeveloped Bridgestone tires in his test with Arrows.

Pizzonia is vying for a test driver role in Formula One combined with a Formula 3000 program and will be announcing his future plans early in the New Year.
