And now for something completely different

Merchandising is a concept which Formula 1 has never grasped with much enthusiasm but Renault has now come up with a novel idea, to licence a British company to produce bespoke furniture and objets d'art, based on parts of Renault F1 cars.

Merchandising is a concept which Formula 1 has never grasped with much enthusiasm but Renault has now come up with a novel idea, to licence a British company to produce bespoke furniture and objets d'art, based on parts of Renault F1 cars. The result is an array of unusual objects such as candlesticks fashioned from gears and a lamp styled like F1 exhaust pipes. The collection is the idea of property developer David Ambrose and Rod Vickery, a former F1 marketing specialist, who run a company called Racing Blue.

The items are manufactured by Interart, a company well-known for making film props.
