A1 Team Switzerland sign title-winning F1 engineer

A1 Team Switzerland has signed James Robinson to engineer for the forthcoming season. The 47-year-old Yorkshireman boasts an impressive motor racing career, winning World Championships as a race engineer with Nelson Piquet, Ayrton Senna, Damon Hill and Jacques Villeneuve.

A1 Team Switzerland has signed James Robinson to engineer for the forthcoming season. The 47-year-old Yorkshireman boasts an impressive motor racing career, winning World Championships as a race engineer with Nelson Piquet, Ayrton Senna, Damon Hill and Jacques Villeneuve. He has also engineered two victories in the Le Mans 24 Hours, with Mclaren in 1995, and Bentley in 2003. In recent times Robinson has worked outside F1, engineering Bruno Senna in F3 in 2005 and Mike Conway in 2006 with Raikkonen Robertson Racing. He is also working in GP2.

while in the same year Robinson also moved into GP2 racing.

A1 Team Switzerland is run by another celebrated former F1 name Max Welti, former sporting director of Sauber.

The team will be running Neel Jani and Sebastien Buemi this year.
