A significant shake-up?

ABC Television has had a shake-up of management in recent weeks following a poor performance in the ratings in recent months.

ABC TELEVISION has had a shake-up of management in recent weeks following a poor performance in the ratings in recent months. The latest victim is ABC President Steve Bornstein, who has a long background in sports television, having spent 20 years with ESPN. During his time at ESPN the channel was a keen supporter of Formula 1 coverage and only a few months ago ABC agreed a deal to show some of this year's Grands Prix on the ABC network.

Bornstein joined ABC when the company was taken over by Walt Disney in 1996. He stood down as ESPN's chief executive and moved on to head of ABC Sports before being promoted to head Disney's Internet ventures but returned to ABC a year ago.
