Three-time Formula 1 champion Sir Jack Brabham, the first driver to be knighted for services to the sport, has recently begun kidney dialysis treatment which means that the Australian will not be able to travel as much as he has in recent years. His son, former F1 driver David, says that Sir Jack is now making regular visits to a hospital for his treatment.

The 81-year-old won the World Championship in 1959, 1960 and 1966. He also established the Brabham team, one of the leading racing teams in the 1970s and 1980s.
