A good idea from Super Aguri

The new rules for practice and qualifying in 2007 mean that teams can run different drivers on Fridays, but the big question is whether they will because the regular drivers want as much time as possible in the cars and testing has been cut back.

The new rules for practice and qualifying in 2007 mean that teams can run different drivers on Fridays, but the big question is whether they will because the regular drivers want as much time as possible in the cars and testing has been cut back. The chances are that the teams will simply run their race drivers - and that means that newcomers will have less chance of getting F1 experience. Super Aguri Racing is proposing to force teams to run a test driver on Friday. The idea will be discussed at the meeting of the F1 Commission next week and if agreed with go through to the World Council.

In order for the change to happen teams must all agree.
