THE careers of Michael and Ralf Schumacher are to become the subject of a German museum.

Based in the brothers' home town of Kerpen-Sindorf, the museum will be built next to the kart track where they began their careers. Michael Schumacher was at the circuit on Tuesday to lay the first stone.

Commenting on the success of himself and his brother, Michael said: "It is not often that two brothers are united like this."

Michael was joined by his brother in Grand Prix racing in 1997, and as a pair, they have clocked up 710 World Championship points.

The museum, which is to be called 'The World of the Schumachers', will display memorabilia tracing the two brothers' paths from their humble beginnings in karting to their recent successes in Formula One. It is due to be opened next year.
