Jean Christophe Boullion
Quiet Frenchman who began go kart racing in 1982 and turned to cars in 1988 by attending a racing school at Montlhery outside Paris. He won the school prize and began racing in Formula Ford 1600 in 1989. The following year he won the French title with Graff Racing and moved to Formula 3 with the team. In 1993 he joined Apomatox in Formula 3000 but did not make much of an impact until he switched to DAMS in 1994 and won the European Formula 3000 Championship in impressive style. He was signed to test for Williams and was then loaned out by the British team to replace Karl Wendlinger at Sauber for the 1995 season.
