Dorino Serafini

This former Gilera motorcycle ace raced in the late 1940s but suffered a very bad crash in a Maserati during the 1947 Comminges Grand Prix when the steering wheel came off in his hands and he went head-on into a tree. He suffered multiple breaks and burns but he returned to racing and shared the second placed Ferrari 375 with Alberto Ascari in the 1950 Italian Grand Prix at Monza.
