Felipe Massa set the fastest time of the first practice session on Saturday morning in Turkey. The Ferrari driver, who has won the race three times thus far, looked very strong, but had the two Toyotas right up with him, Jarno Trulli beating Timo Glock to second. Fourth place fell to Kazuki Nakajima's Williams with Robert Kubica sixth.

Rising quietly up the order, however, were the two Brawns. The team had a quiet day on Friday but as things become more serious so Rubens Barrichello and Jenson Button climb the order and it is hard to imagine that they will not be serious players in the qualifying sessions.

Behind them in eighth was Nico Rosberg in the second Williams, ahead of Kimi Raikkonen's Ferrari, Sebastian Vettel's Red Bull, Nelson Piquet's Renault and Lewis Hamilton's McLaren.

Mark Webber was 13th fastest ahead of Nick Heidfeld's BMW Sauber, the McLaren of Heikki Kovalainen and Adrian Sutil's Force India.

Next up were the two Toro Rossos of Sebastiens Bourdais and Buemi, then a disappointing Fernando Alonso and Giancarlo Fisichella in the second Force India.

After three sessions when the times have meant very little, things will get serious in qualifying.
