Sebastian Vettel (1:48.340) once again underlined his pace around Singapore's Marina Bay circuit with quickest time in the second session of free practice. McLaren also looks ominously quick, in both single lap and long run configuration.

Lewis Hamilton was quickest early in the session with everyone on the prime (soft) Pirelli tyre, but the option (supersoft) proved to be worth almost two seconds to most of the quick men.

It was this tyre that Vettel (1:48.340) used to top the session, ahead of Jenson Button's McLaren (1:48.651) and Fernando Alonso's Ferrari (1:48.896), with Mark Webber (1:48.964) also in close touch with the second Red Bull RB8.

Hamilton lost time on his quick supersoft tyre lap (1:49.086) but clearly there is more in the car and the '08 champion looked very strong on his longer runs.

The Force Indias of Paul Di Resta (1:49.300) and Nico Hulkenberg (1:49.339) were evenly matched once again, in strong sixth and seventh places, comfortably clear of Nico Rosberg's Mercedes (1:49.790).

Felipe Massa'a Ferrari (1:50.039) and Romain Grosjean's Lotus (1:50.161) completed the top 10, with the Frenchman's team mate Kimi Raikkonen forced to stop early with a hydraulic issue.

The session was red-flagged after 50 minutes when Bruno Senna's Williams went off at Turn 10 and needed to be craned away.
