Practice 3 Report - Vettel maintains margin in final Singapore practice

Sebastian Vettel (1:48.028) continued to set the pace in Singapore ahead of the vital qualifying session for round 15 of the 19-race F1 world championship.

The young German, currently 24 points adrift of team mate Mark Webber's championship lead, again enjoyed more than half a second's advantage at the head of the time sheets from second fastest man Fernando Alonso's Ferrari (1:48.650).

Again, however, track conditions were not ideal with the circuit not fully drying after earlier rain and the FP3 times a second and a half from those set in the second Friday session.

Lewis Hamilton's McLaren (1:49.000) set third quickest lap, two hundredths quicker than Felipe Massa (1:49.023) with the second Ferrari. Nico Rosberg (1:49.056) was well in touch with the first of the Mercedes, from series leader Webber (1:49.212).

Nico Hulkenberg (1:49.304) continues to impress with his confident handling of the Williams, setting the seventh quickest time on his first visit to a circuit he describes as "awesome."

Robert Kubica (1:49.520), who missed much of the quicker Friday session with hydraulic issues was eighth in the first of the Renaults, ahead of Adrian Sutil's Force India (1:49.916) and Sebastian Buemi's Toro Rosso (1:49.949).

The question in everyone's mind is what the weather will do. All drivers have labelled the partly resurfaced street course 'slippery' and local weather forecasts are suggesting thunderstorms precisely at the 10pm local start time for qualifying...
